on this city. He was as straight talking a politician as you could find, left office while still popular, and fought against having any city property named after him.
He was a great communicator and was effective when it was a large crowd, a few close friends , or a disgruntled citizen with an ax!
He ushered in a new era in Colorado Springs politics, and maybe now we can name the airport after him. (Maybe not, he was alway tenacious about that)
We won’t see his like again soon. More’s the pity.
